Vintage large abalone shell, mother of pearl and Alpaca silver hummingbird design Mexican made brooch . The brooch is formed from alpaca silver in the shape of a hummingbird in flight, with mother of pearl and abalone shell inlays. Secure roll over safety clasp. Circa 1980s - 90's .
Alpaca Silver, is not ' REAL ' Silver, that' s how its commonly referred to and known. It is made from alloy of Zinc, Iron, Copper and Nickel. It has properties like stainless steel and will not tarnish or rust, plus its hypoallergenic.
