Vintage Large Sphinx Faux Agate Porphyry Glass Set Modernist Design Statement Brooch

Vintage large faux marbled agate porphyry glass set brooch by Sphinx.  Formed from a gold tone metal oval shaped ornate design border set with a large marbled porphyry glass faceted stone.  The brooch is signed Sphinx to the back.  Circa 1960's - 70's. 

Sphinx jewellery is a collectible vintage British UK Jewellery brand. The company was started in the late 1940′s by S Root and was based in Chiswick, London.  They were known for their well made, statement costume jewellery pieces , producing a wide spectrum of styles and designs.

• Brooch Size is approx 4.4cm by 5.5cm at the widest points
• Secure roll over safety clasp fastening.
• Signed Sphinx to the back of the brooch.
• Good vintage condition.
