Vintage Rare Small Niello Ware Elephant Design Sterling Silver Choker Necklace

Vintage small and dainty sterling silver Niello ware elephant design pendant and short length choker chain. Formed from a small elephant design abstract teardrop shaped sterling silver Niello ware pendant, set on a short choker length sterling silver chain. Spring ring clasp,  Circa 1950s - 60s.

Due to its small size of pendant and chain and the fact that Niello ware items were aimed at the tourist trade I believe this to be a childs necklace, it will still look quite pretty as a small and dainty choker, but I believe it was originally aimed for children.   

• Pendant measures approx 2cm ( from the top of the bale ) by 1cm at the widest points.
• The elephant design repeats to the back of the pendant.
• Spring ring clasp
• Signed sterling to necklace clasp
• Good vintage condition.
• Circa 1950's - 60's
